Intro to AI for Cold Outreach

Transcript

Welcome to our session on cold outreach. Cold outreach can be one of the most frustrating tasks in sales because it’s tedious. But, with AI, you can streamline a lot of the work, so you spend less time writing and more time building connections with the people you do reach.

Ready to hear more? Let’s get started.

Let’s dive into the challenges we face with cold outreach.

First, it can be incredibly time-consuming. Sending individual messages, tracking responses, and following up with potential clients or leads—it all adds up.

Second, the repetitive nature of cold outreach can lead to burnout. It’s a lot of the same tasks day in and day out.

So, these are the hurdles we need to overcome. And this is where AI comes in to make our lives easier.

Now, let’s talk about why using AI for cold outreach is a real game-changer.
Well, it’s a massive time-saver. Who doesn’t want more hours in the day, right?

And it doesn’t stop there. AI supercharges our efficiency. Think about reaching out to a larger audience without breaking a sweat— AI can help with that.

Plus, it can customize messages for dozens of dozens of people we’re reaching out to effortlessly, helping us look like pros.

But here’s the real kicker—it helps us beat writer’s block. AI suggests content and phrasing, so we’re never stuck staring at a blinking cursor.

Alright, so now that we know the benefits, let’s talk about what we need to do.
First, we prime ChatGPT. It’s like giving it a heads-up on what we’re looking to achieve.

Then comes the fun part—writing the email. We use AI to craft a message that resonates with our prospect. It’s about making that connection and introducing them to what we offer.

Just to give you an idea, here’s an example prompt:
Based on information I will provide about my product and its core benefits, craft a cold email that resonates with a prospect, who is a [role] at company [name of company]. Please ensure the email reflects the voice and tone that align with our brand, focusing on building rapport and creating an engaging introduction to our offerings. This email should be no more than 150 words.

Always make sure to provide a word limit because otherwise ChatGPT can ramble a bit.

Here’s an example of how it would look in an email sent from an Account Executive at Winn.AI to a sales leader at a prospect company.

Just note, you’ll probably need to do a few rounds of revisions with ChatGPT to get it exactly the way you want it, but even still, it’s far faster than doing it by hand–and the quality is high.

When it comes to those attention-grabbing subject lines, you don’t need to sweat it. You can ask ChatGPT to whip up a bunch of them, and you get to pick the ones that resonate the most with you. If you tell it which ones you like, it’ll come up with more in the same style.

Finally, if your first email doesn’t get a response, don’t be discouraged. Give it another shot later on from a different angle, or better yet, consider using a sequence of emails. Persistence pays off, and thankfully, with ChatGPT, iterating and reiterating is easy.

And that’s it folks! Thanks for tuning in, and we’ll see you in the next section!
